Women
in Technology (WIT) was founded as a student organization
in 1998 at Purdue University in the School of Technology.
Seventy-five members
responded to the call-out, and membership has
remained between 70 and 80.
Women
in Technology's purpose is to develop leaders and
personal as well as professional relationships through
activities in the following categories:
Networking
> Bringing in speakers
> Organizing job fairs
> Conferences
> Internships/Co-ops
Mentoring
> Supporting first and second year School of Technology
women students
> Supporting with middle and high school women students
> Living/learning communities
Outreach
> Recruiting middle and high school students
> On-campus workshop for middle and high school
women students
Service
> Charitable community projects
> On-campus service projects
