Elections
We will be having elections at our next meeting on November 18. For more information on the positions, attached is a file that explains each WIT members duties.

Mentor Program
If you are interested in the mentor program, Freshman or upperclassmen, and you did not sign up at our last meeting, please let Jen know.

Chairperson Positions
We are setting up committee heads for newly created positions. There are 2 open spots, Community Service Chair and Special Events Chair. We will also be taking applicants for these positions on Tuesday. If you are interested and will not be at the meeting Tuesday, let me know. Study Abroad Information

November 15, 2008-Deadline for applications to the Fulbright New Century Scholars Program, which brings together 25-30 research scholars and professionals from the U.S. and participating countries around the world. The program includes three plenary seminar meetings and a Fulbright exchange visit. Scholars engage in collaborative thinking and multi-disciplinary research on a theme of global significance. The theme for 2008-09 is "The University as Innovation Driver and Knowledge Center." For more information, visit http://www.cies.org/NCS/.

February 1, 2009-Applications due for Group Study Visits to Germany sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). DAAD offers financial support for academic information visits to Germany which are organized by faculty members for groups of students. Group Study Visit grants are intended to encourage contact with academic institutions, groups and individuals in Germany, and offer insight into current issues in the academic, scientific, economic, political and cultural realms. February 11, 2009-Student applications due to the NSEP Boren Scholarship Program for semester or full-year study abroad programs in the 2009-10 academic year. NSEP provides up to $10,000 per semester or $20,000 for a year to eligible students who are studying in areas of the world critical to national security, in exchange for work in the federal government.
