Interim Department Head
Welcome to the Department of Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS)! Our home page provides valuable information about the department, faculty and staff, and courses offered for an OLS major or to anyone interested in Organizational Leadership and Human Resources courses. |
We pride ourselves on our highly individualized, practical, people-oriented approach to the practice of leadership in business and industry. Three programs are available: Bachelor of Science Degree, Associate of Science Degree, and the Organizational Leadership Certificate. OLS courses are offered at the West Lafayette campus as well as at several School of Technology sites around the state. Three-fourths of the program is composed of required courses that provide the necessary skills and knowledge for success in professional positions. The remaining courses allow specialization in specific areas of interest or talent; such as operations, quality control, training, labor relations, and human relations.
Graduates of the OLS program fit well in a wide range of positions in manufacturing, service businesses, industry, entrepreneurial businesses, and non-profit organizations. Placement of graduates last year was 93% with the demand increasing each year. To prepare for these jobs we offer three valuable work related opportunities: cooperative education program, internships, and work-place practiums.
As you view our web site take time to look at the wide range of available courses, the diverse work background, experience of the faculty, excellent facilities including the Organizational Leadership laboratory, opportunities to participate in student organizations, and the job/placement opportunities while in school and after graduation.
Organizational Leadership and Supervision is a dynamic course of study that prepares students to work with people in a variety of leadership roles. Feel free to contact us directly because people is what we are all about. |
