JELD-WEN Scholarships for 2006-07
Purpose:
The JELD-WEN Foundation Scholarships are granted to one entering freshman and one sophomore/junior majoring in OLS. JELD-WEN, the largest privately owned company in the state of Oregon wishes to aid students who are from an Indiana community in which a Jeld-Wen facility is located (Plymouth and Ligonier, Indiana). If qualified students from this area not available then the scholarships can be awarded to other qualified students from Indiana.
Criteria:
- Recipient must be an entering freshman and/or a sophomore/junior enrolled in the School of Technology and majoring in Organizatonal Leadership and Supervision at Purdue University.
- Preference will be given to students from a community in which a JELD-WEN facility is located. These communities include Plymouth and Ligonier. If a recipient cannot be identified from one of these areas, a resident of any other Indiana county can be chosen.
- Preference will be given to students who are in finanical need.
- Recipent must be a full time (12 credit hours or more) student.
- Recipent must show scholastic ability at a minimum level by meeting Purdue University's admission requirements.
Award Amount:
The JELD-WEN Foundation Scholarship will be in the amount of (1) $2,000 for a qualified freshman, and (2) $500 scholarships to qualified sophomores/juniors. These scholarships are provided annually by contributions from the JELD-WEN Foundation. The Scholarship should be used for tuition, books, and fees only.
Selection Process:
Screening and selection will be done by
the Organizational Leadership and Supervision Scholarship
Committee. To apply for this scholarship submit a letter addressed
to the OLS Scholarship Committee, Department of Organizational
Leadership and Supervision Department, Young Hall, 151 S.
Grant Street, West Lafayette, IN 47906-3572. The letter should
address why you should be considered for the scholarship and
an explanation of financial need. Include an updated resume
and a copy of your college transcript. Application deadline
is January 2005.
