Biography
Rodney Vandeveer is
an associate professor in the College
of Technology at Purdue University,
West Lafayette, Indiana. Professor Vandeveer brings to
his teaching and training 30 years of industrial experience working as a
Plant Manager, Manager of Labor Studies, Operations Manager, Director of
Human Resources, and Director of Operations with such companies as Allen
Bradley, RCA, and Rostone Corporation. In the Department of
Organizational Leadership and Supervision he teaches Human Behavior in
Organizations, Leadership Philosophy, Leadership Strategies for Quality
and Productivity, Entrepreneurship and Emerging World-class Leadership
Strategies. He has his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University
and a Masters of Science degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan
University.
Professor Vandeveer
is a member of the International Society for Explorations in Teaching and
Learning (ISETL). He is also a member of the Executive Board for the
Sagamore Council of the Boy Scouts of America, a member of American
Society for Quality, American Society for Training and Development,
International Leadership Association and the American Society for
Engineering Management. Professor Vandeveer consults in the areas of
leadership and supervisory training, lean process management, and human
resource management. Professor
Vandeveer also works with the Purdue Technical Assistance Program and the
Purdue Healthcare Technical Assistance Program conducting needs
assessments and implementation of training and leadership development
programs. He has worked with
organizations such as Mitsubishi Corporation, National Tank Truck
Carriers, Do-It-Best Corporation, Witham
Hospital, Wishard Hospital,
and Medtronic Corporation.
Professor Vandeveer has also co-authored a textbook entitled, “Human
Behavior in Organizations”.
