Laurie Graham, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of Organizatioanl Leadership and Supervision with a quarter time appointment in Women's Studies at Purdue University. Professor Graham teaches courses in labor relations, conflict management, and women in the labor movement. Her academic background includes a B.A. in General Studies from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Purdue University. Before coming to Purdue she held the position of Associate Professor of Labor Studies at Indiana University for 14 years. She has over 30 years of experience in the field of labor relations, union leadership and conflict management. Considered an expert on labor management issues in the auto industry, her research articles appear in journals and books including Work and Occupations, Research in the Sociology of Work, The Oxford Handbook of Work and Organizations, and Lean Work: Empowerment and Exploitation in the Global Auto Industry. Her book On the Line at Subaru Isuzu: Japanese Management and the American Worker is widely used in graduate and undergraduate classes across the county.
