Electrical
and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) Department
Students in the Electrical Engineering Technology
(EET) program, including students in our Computer Engineering Technology
(CpET) specialization, receive a broad-based, technically oriented
education that emphasizes the application of today's technology
to solve problems, design and develop products, and improve manufacturing
processes, procedures, equipment, and facilities. The A.S. and B.S.
programs of the EET curriculum are accredited by TAC of ABET* and
offer a choice of courses in a variety of areas including industrial
networks, computer networking, embedded microcontrollers, power
and controls, communications, analog electronics, and digital electronics.
Coursework is applications-oriented, and hands-on experience is
gained through laboratory experiences that are carefully integrated
into the courses. In addition, ECET students benefit from the strong
emphasis placed on the development of written and oral communication
skills. ECET graduates are firmly rooted in modern technology and
are able to offer their employers immediate contribution as teamplayers
who have problem solving and project management experience. Individual
academic advising is continuously provided throughout the student's
program of study.
