Campaign for Purdue: Goals for CIT


CIT's Goals

Purdue is in the midst of a $1.5 billion campaign that began on July 1, 2000 and will conclude on June 30, 2007. The College of Technology's goal is $98.5 million. As of April 1, 2005, the college has received $87.75 million (89% of its goal), while the Computer and Information Technology Department has received $9.5 million. The remaining goals for CIT's advancement priorities are listed below:

Advancement Area Description $ Goal
Student Support Gifts are needed to fund merit-based and need-based scholarships for recruitment and to help improve racial and gender diversity in the department. $60,000
Faculty Support Gifts are needed to fund faculty training, industry conference participation, and provide resources to support excellence in teaching. The department's signature areas include Computer Forensics, Wireless Networking, Mobile Applications, and Computational Life sciences (Bioinformatics). $20,000
Facilities Gifts are needed to leverage support from other sources for software, hardware, and lab needs to support teaching. $30,000
Graduate Education Gifts are needed to provide resources to support graduate education and graduate student participation in research/discover projects. $20,000
CPT Tech Fund This unrestricted gift fund provides the department with flexibility to support strategic priorities including Student Scholarships, Faculty Development, and support for Student Organizations. $50,000
