Biography
Dr. Rahaim has over 15 years of experience in academia, government, and industry. His experience spans from designing new missile systems to designing cutting edge training devices. He has experience in software engineering, aerodynamic design, modeling and simulation, animation and visual effects, film production, and game design.
He has worked for such organizations as Lockheed Martin, NASA, Science Applications International Corporation, and the Navy as a civil servant. He is an experienced educator that wants to take his knowledge and experience and help educate the next generation of animators and game designers. One of his key research interests is in the use of games as a serious training tool. As part of this effort he will employ Delta3D a full-function game engine appropriate for a wide variety of modeling & simulation applications and being developed by a consortium of DOD, University, and Industry partners into his current course curriculum. Also as part of this effort Dr. Rahaim has been notified that Purdue University will become an official member of this important consortium.
He is an active member of several international committees and has been most recently asked to join the elite group that comprise the Advisory Board for the MOVES Institute (Modeling Virtual Environments and Simulation Institute (MOVES)) at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Ca.
