Professor Charles W. White joined the Computer Graphics Technology Department
of Purdue University in 1976. His association with professional organizations has been the American Design Drafting
Association, having served on its board of directors; the American Society of Engineering Educators
(Engineering Design Graphcis Division); and has served on a standards committee for ASME.
Design documentation, both development and detail, are his specialties.
Threaded fasteners, ANSI drawing standards, and installation instructional documentation are of particular interest.
In addition to teaching duties at Purdue University, he
continues with private consulting in technical graphics practices and education.
Industrial instruction programs in blueprint reading have been created and taught for
both TRW and Fluid Dynamics. Graphic projects for Boeing, General Foods, Gerber-Globe Valve,
Monticello Spring Corp. and Versa Flow are included in his experience. He has also served as an
engineering assistant for a bridge construction project, assisted in the survey of and map making

machines for both the spring making and well drilling industry.
The last several years have found him producing the patent drawings for a
biomedical engineering company.
