Guidelines for
International Outstanding Chapter Award,
High
Achievement Award,
Excellence
Award
|
A.
The award(s) shall be awarded annually.
|
|
B.
The award(s) shall be awarded by the International Sigma Lambda
Chi.
|
|
C.
The International Secretary/Treasurer shall, each year, appoint three
or four reviewers who are not chapter advisors.
|
|
D.
The reviewers shall grade the chapter activity as reflected in
the Annual Chapter Activity Reports only.
|
|
|
1.
|
Each of the seven activity parts shall be graded with a score of
0 to 10, with 10 being the highest.
Each of the reviewers shall report
the itemized numbers for each activity part to the International
Secretary/Treasurer. |
|
|
2.
|
The reviewer will be requested to consider chapter size.
|
|
E.
The International Office shall furnish each reviewer a numbered
copy of the Annual Chapter Activity Report for each chapter, with the
names of the school, university, chapter, advisor, and officers deleted.
|
|
F. The
reviewers will enter onto the reviewer's form a score for each item for
each chapter. The International Secretary/Treasurer shall total the
scores for each chapter. |
|
G.
The following two overall awards are to be awarded:
|
|
|
1.
|
The chapter with the highest
score shall be awarded the International
Outstanding Chapter Award.
In the event of a tie, all tying chapters shall receive the
award.
|
|
|
2.
|
Chapters with high ratings in
several areas are candidates for the High Achievement
Award.
|
|
H.
Chapters who are not receiving the International Outstanding
Chapter Award or the High Achievement Award, and who score the highest
in an activity area, shall receive one Excellence Award from
among the following awards: [A chapter shall receive only one Excellence
Award per year.]

1.
Excellence in Current Committees and Their Activities
2.
Excellence in Service Projects to the Major Field of Study
3.
Excellence in Service Projects to the Campus
4.
Excellence in Names of Outstanding Professional Persons in
Construction Recognized as Honorary Members
5.
Excellence in Fund Raising Activities
6.
Excellence in Special Social Events
7.
Excellence in Pledge Projects

I.
The Annual Chapter Activity Reports shall be modified as follows:
|
1.
Show the number of active members before the
newly installed.
2. Show
the number of newly installed members.
3. Rearrange
the form to make it easy to prepare for the reviewers.
|
|
J.
The Society shall, every year, issue to the chapters plaques and
other trophies commemorating the awards.
|
|
K.
Each year, the International President shall send a letter of
transmittal with the Chapter Activity Reports explaining the process to
each chapter.
