continuing to provide several service and social activities through its
committees, the 2008 Excellence in Committees and Activities Award
goes to the

|
For
providing a “Professionalism Series” for their students, designed to
help improve how students conduct themselves in their future careers,
and by hosting workshops in resume writing and interviewing skills, the

to the

For
working with the City to hold a Soil Erosion Certification class,
holding a CPR/First Aid class, holding an annual food drive, providing a

in the annual Homecoming Parade, the 2008 Excellence in Service Projects

For
continuing to install honorary members, including the Chair of their

in Fund-Raising Activities Award |
For this
new chapter creating a T-Shirt fundraiser; hosting a contractor golf
tournament with cart, lunch, prizes, and a tailgating event during the
University’s Cereal Bowl; and selling textbooks to their students, the
2008 Excellence in Fund-Raising Activities Award goes to the
Pi IV chapter of
South Dakota State University

in Special Social Events
|
For
hosting several social events for the program’s students and SLC
members, including providing free hot dog nights and burger nights,
hosting an annual golf tournament with follow-up BBQ with a live band
made up of CM faculty, and “selling” their labor to a homeless shelter,
the 2008 Excellence in Special Social Events goes to the

For

Achievement Award |
This next award goes to chapters who
maintain a high standard of quality activity overall in their efforts to
assist their chapter, programs, universities, and communities. These
activities reflect the high objectives of Sigma Lambda Chi.
For
planning, hosting, mentoring, selling, and coordinating, this
chapter has accomplished much, including several service projects
for their program, students, and community, such as working on the
Muskegon River Water Safety project, and the Mecosta Youth Center,
including individual efforts going beyond the call, this year’s
2008 High Achievement Award goes to the
Omicron II chapter of Ferris State University

Outstanding Chapter Award |
This last award is the International
Outstanding Chapter Award, presented for overall outstanding activity in
ALL areas.
This
chapter continues to excel in all the major areas of chapter
activities. To mention a few, chapter members comprise several
active committees, providing assistance to their university and
program in such events as their specialty days, career fairs, safety
sales, and socials; also providing assistance during campus preview
days, participating in several drives, and being active in several
community projects, including building fish cribs for brook trout
along with USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, this year’s
2008 International Outstanding Chapter Award goes to the
Epsilon III chapter of
University of Wisconsin – Stout
