Crawford, W. G. (2003). Construction Surveying and Layout.
3rd Ed. West Lafayette, IN. Creative Construction Publishing, www.creativeconstruction.com
This book is the culmination of many years of work and thought.
For years I had wanted to write a highly illustrated book that actually
showed "how-to" perform construction measurement and layout activities.
Finally, in the Spring of 1993 I made contact with some very talented
electronic illustrators. Their skills allowed me to bring my ideas out
and resulted in a book that contains over 1400 illustrations. Click
the link above for more details on this unique text.

and Layout. Taipei, Taiwan, New Wun Ching Developmental
Publishing Co. Ltd.

The second edition of the English version of Construction
Surveying and Layout was translated to Traditional Chinese characters by the Wun
Ching Publishing Company of Taipei, Taiwan. All illustrations were
included in the translation. This book is being marketed throughout Taiwan
and is available in China.
- Crawford, W. G., & Johnson, S. (2003). Plane surveying. 2nd Ed In W.
F. Chen (Ed. in Chief), Civil Engineering Handbook. Boca Raton, FL: CRC
Publishing Company.
I was asked by the editor of the surveying section of this
book to work with Prof. Steve Johnson of the School of Civil Engineering
at Purdue to co-author the chapter on plane surveying.
-
Crawford, W. G. (1995). Construction surveying. In S. M. Levy (Ed.),
Field Inspection Handbook. New York NY: McGraw-Hill Publishing Company.
Sidney Levy contacted me and asked for a chapter on Construction
surveying. I was able to modify some of the work from Construction Surveying
and Layout to write this chapter.

- Summer of 1992
and 1993 I worked in Greeley Colorado for
Hensel Phelps on a revision of the Hensel Phelps Field Engineering
Methods Manual. This effort resulted in a 400 page manual that laid
the foundation for my book, Construction Surveying and Layout,
www.creativeconstruction.com.
- From 1984 to 1993
I worked with Hensel Phelps Construction Company, Greeley CO, on
summer faculty internships, including a year-long sabbatical in
1986-87

- Overall
While working with Hensel Phelps, I have participated in numerous
seminars for field engineers within the Hensel Phelps organization.

my knowledge of field engineering and to transfer this knowledge
to the classroom, maintaining information that is relevant and often
ahead of industry practices.
