Goal
The goal of this graduate program is to provide an educational experience
that will prepare an individual for a leadership position in the construction
industry. Graduate Students in the Building Construction Management
program are afforded the opportunity to work and study with faculty
members who have prominent reputations in the construction industry.
Gaining an Education in Graduate Construction Management
An education in graduate construction management is one of the options
of the School of Technology (SOT) Master of Science degree. This
non-thesis master's degree program provides an opportunity for individualized
professional development studies in construction management. Upon
admission into the SOT Master of Science degree with an emphasis in
Building Construction Management, the student is assigned an advisor
from the Department of Building Construction Management. The advisor
and the student put together a unique graduate degree plan of study
that is customized for the individual student based upon his/her experience
and degree objectives.
Learning to Teach Construction Management Education
For those
desiring a career in teaching construction management education, the
Doctor of Philosophy and the thesis Master of Science degree programs
are administered jointly with the School of Education to provide educational
opportunities in adult education, instructional development, curriculum
design, and education administration, with a major concentration in
construction education.
