Professional Mission Statement
I want to share my knowledge of construction surveying and layout to
improve the educational preparation of construction students in becoming the best field
engineers in the world.
Personal Mission Statement
I want to experience life at its fullest by learning something new every
day. I want to share my knowledge with others so that they can develop goals and visions
and a vivid imagination that anything in life can be achieved.
Why I teach
I get the most satisfaction out of life by helping others. Knowing that
I am helping someone else to move forward with their lives gives me my deepest
satisfaction. I especially enjoy seeing the "light bulb" turn on in the
someone's eyes. In my life, there is no greater feeling!
Thanks, Mom and Dad
I'm appreciative every day of the hard work and sacrifice of my parents
in raising me and my brothers and sister. They willingly gave their time and money in
helping us to succeed. I appreciate that every day and will never forget it.
I enjoy
- My cabin.
- In 1998-99, we spent a year traveling to different construction
jobsites while visiting 31 states and traveled 35,000 miles.
- Traveling in our RV on summer vacations and weekends. (About 10,000 miles a year.)
- Visiting National Parks and Historical sites (We have been to most National Parks in the
continental USA.)
- Walking in the woods (We are part owners of 90 acres of woodland in Pennsylvania and
a 110
acre tree farm in Indiana.)
- Hunting, Fishing, Canoeing
- Reading about WWII
- Woodworking
- My hobbies are numerous. This is the short list!
| My Getaway
In 1998, with the assistance of some very fine students who have plumbing, electrical,
carpentry, finishing, and other building skills, I built a cabin/lodge on my hunting
property in Crawfordsville, Indiana. I hope to enjoy this with my family and friends for
years to come. |

What I want to do when I grow up
My son often asks me what I want to do when I grow up (I guess he is
simply parroting what he hears). Well, I want to retire before age 60. Possibly as early
as age 57. Bonnie will be retiring at 58 with her state teachers retirement, so we may
both retire at that age and enjoy our hobbies and time at our getaway. |
