Advisory Board

Principle Mission
The members of Purdue's, Organizational Leadership and Supervision, College of Technology Advisory Council provide volunteer leadership, donor cultivation, and stewardship that support the mission of the department.

Membership
The OLS Advisory Council shall consist of no less than 15 members and will be invited to serve at the discretion of the department head. Candidates will be selected based on their ability and willingness to provide leadership, provide necessary linkages with other alumni and friends who are able to engage in leadership and financial support to the department, and contribute financially.

Length of tenure: Members will be asked to serve a three-year term that may be extended if mutually agreeable.

Responsibilities
1. Advise and counsel the OLS department head, administrators, counselors, and faculty about strategic issues facing the department.

2. Act as an advocate for the department. Serve on task forces and committees as requested to address strategic and tactical activities in the department.

3. Provide feedback on curriculum, marketing, and communication plans.

4. Attend two OLS Advisory Council meetings per year and, when possible, other events sponsored by the department and College of Technology.

5. Serve as a leader for the department's overall fundraising objectives. Assist the department head and development staff by identifying key individual, corporate, and donor prospects and, where appropriate, provide introductions.

6. Set an example in private giving by making a minimum annual leadership gift of $1,000 to the department.
