Biography
Professor Gabel is an Associate Professor of Technical Graphics in
the School of Technology with twenty-seven years of university teaching experience.
He has taught sixteen courses and has been supervisor of six courses within
the Department of Computer Graphics Technology. He was awarded the Hertz Foundation
Excellence in Teaching Award in 1982.
Professor Gabel is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer, specializing
in computer-aided design, with thirty-three years of consulting experience
for local, state, and national corporations.
Professor Gabel's current interests are directed toward solid modeling
and how these models support the design-thru-manufacturing cycle. Publications
include a computer-aided instructional package, three course manuals, one
journal article, and three papers included in conference proceedings. Other
activities include three national and two international conference presentations.
Professor Gabel has served on two university committees, seven school
committees, twelve departmental committees, was chairman of three departmental
committee, and has served as a member of three graduate committees. |
