Biography
Jim is an Associate Professor of Technical Graphics at Purdue University.
He teaches technical and computer graphics
and has won the Dwyer Undergraduate Teaching Award (1985), presented annually
for outstanding teaching in the School of Technology. He has numerous professional
awards for technical illustration and commercial art.
Jim's professional memberships include the Society for Technical Communication (STC), American
Technical Education Association (ATEA), and Information Display and Entertainment
Association (IDEA). He has performed design and illustration consulting
services for nationally known corporate clients such as TRW, Aluminum Company
of America (ALCOA), General Foods, and Great Lakes Chemical Corporation.
Jim's current interests are in Vector Graphics, and Sports Animation
Graphics. In addition to teaching, he has supervised the production and operation of the graphics scoreboard for all sporting
events in Mackey Arena at Purdue, since 1990.
Jim is a past judge for the International Technical Art
Competition for the Society for Technical Communication. |
