Hi Terry,
It’s been quite a few years since we last spoke and I hope that all
is well for you in CGT. I’d love to hear that you’re still stressing kids out
with 411 projects -it’s good for them to sweat a little. I haven’t heard from Jim
about the email I sent below, so I figured that I would try speaking with you
about the matter. I’ve actually pinged HR since last week and they would love
to throw Purdue into the mix for their potential interns (they have 9 slots for
this summer). My goal is to see some of the cream-of-the crop Purdue students
get a head-start with an internship (since getting your foot in the door can be
one of the toughest parts of our industry). Can you help kick-start a potential
opportunity like this?
Thanks,
-Doug

Hi
Jim,
It’s
been awhile but I wanted to touch base and see how my alma mater is doing these
days. I went by the CGT website and was looking to find an alumni directory to
see where some of my old colleagues are working these days and perhaps to edit
my own profile. I might not have looked hard enough, but I wasn’t able to find
any sort of feature. For me, using my social network has helped me land
positions at Midway, EA, Raven, and even at Kellogg for my MBA. I’ve found it
incredibly useful to have an ‘inside man’ at places around the industry in
order to land at least an interview and I’m sure that I’m not the only one.
Does something like this exist and I couldn’t find it?
As
for me, I was a TD at EA Chicago for the last year when this
happened. I’m still in the middle of getting my MBA at Northwestern but have
now moved to the weekend program after accepting a Senior Technical Artist
position at Raven Software up in
I
was also wondering if you have the latest contact information for Scott Meador?
I’d love to send him an email and see how he’s been doing these days.
All
the best,
-Doug
