Professor Burton,
It is with great regret (and a dry mouth) that I must report that Burly Iceberg Games (Group X-3), has terminated my contract with them. In short, I've been fired.
Needless to say, this comes as more than a mild shock. I'm holding up well, having had a previous warning of my immenent problem during our Tuesday meeting. So. They did give me warning. I do not fault them there.
I disagree with their reasoning, but in a situation where product matters, I can see where they are having problems with me. My work has been slow (but I DO finish, given time), though my enthusiasum has not waned. I still belive that I would be - would have been - a great assest to them, if they had been willing to be more understanding. The world of business, however, is not always so.
Perhaps, luckily, this is not quite yet the world of business. This is 411. So. I assume I'll need to find a new group, as if my group had been disbanded for Go-No/Go?
That I can unhappily handle.
What I wish to know, however, is to what extent am I entitled to my work within Group X-3? Obviously, they owe me back pay for the weeks that I was with them. Do they owe me severance pay? Am I allowed to take my work with me? How much of it is the group's property, and how much is mine?
In short, what do I do now?
Unemployed and uncertain,
XXXX XXXXXX
p.s. I'm attempting to take this with a grain of salt, and I don't think all of it has quite hit me yet. But I realize that if I don't pass this class, I don't graduate. So I just want it made clear that I am aware of the severity of the situation, but I'm trying to stay civilized.
