Group Presentation of a technical research paper

 

1. Your group will be assigned a specific research topic (see below). Your topic will be scheduled for presentation to the class. You will present only one research paper.
2. Find at least three research papers on the topics that are interesting to you and bring the hardcopies or send e-mail to your instructor. In your e-mail, please indicate which paper you prefer to present on. You may want to set an appointment to discuss which article your group will use as the subject of your presentation.
3. Work with your group members and prepare a presentation indicative of a senior in CGT. You are expected to use a variety of media assets to deliver technical data effectively to the professors and the class.
4. Your group presentation must be limited to a maximum of 10 minutes. Penalties (points deducted) will be assessed for going over the 10-minute time limit.
5.  Professors will evaluate the effectiveness of your presentation based on the following criteria: (75 points possible)
1. Interpretive quality – who, what, why, how?
2. Background evidence supporting paper
3. Obvious evidence of planning
4. Research methodology
5. Possible application to CGT
6. Explain statistical / mathematical basis that the paper is based on or discovers.
