Graduate Studies With an Emphasis in Computer Graphics
The School of Technology (SOT) offers the
Master of Science degree with several different options available.
The degree offers a nonthesis directed project plan of study
that concentrates on professional development in engineering
technology, industrial technology, or industrial technology
education. The Department of Computer Graphics (CG) participate
in the SOT graduate program by offering graduate courses,
directed graduate projects, and supporting graduate assistantships.
All SOT graduate degrees are offered and administered through
the Director of Graduate Studies.
Each graduate degree plan is unique to the
individual student and his/her background, experience, and
degree objectives. Each degree candidate will be appointed
an advisor from the graduate faculty to assist with program
planning. Advisors are assigned based on a review of the candidate’s
application materials. Candidate requests for a specific advisor
are accepted but not guaranteed. Once a candidate is admitted
to the graduate program, the advisor becomes his/her most
important contact person.
The master of science plan of study has
a minimum requirement of 30 semester hours of course work
and 3 semester hours of directed project (CGT 598). The master of science thesis requirement is 27 hours of coursework and 6 hours of directed project (CGT 698). Each
candidate’s plan of study will ultimately be directed by the
advisory committee.
A limited number of graduate research and
teaching assistantships are available in the CG Department.
Additional appointments are available within the SOT and other
schools of the University. Most graduate appointments will
ordinarily be for no more than one-half time.
Please note that there are admissions requirements for both the College of Technology and the Computer Graphics Technology Department.
