  • 1996 Dwyer Undergraduate Teaching Award
    • This is an award presented annually to an outstanding under graduate teacher in the School of Technology

  • 1996 Flight Instructor of the Year - Indianapolis FAA Flight Standards District Office
    • This is an award bestowed by the Federal Aviation Administration based on written recommendations of students and peers.  It represents the highest standard in aviation education and professionalism.

  • Gold Seal Flight Instructor 1989
    • The FAA awards the Gold Seal designation to those individuals who have met exacting certification standards and documented exceptional achievement in flight instructional activity.

TEACHING AND RESEARCH INTERESTS

    Professor Wulle has developed a program with regional airlines that will provide students the background and skills that enable a new graduate to become a successful line pilot.  This program replaces flight time with intense education and training in the regional airline environment. In the past two years, it has become a model for regional airlines and other educational institutions.  
    Professor Wulle has been engaged in activities that provide opportunities to maintain his expertise as a professional pilot and educator.  He has become the only Purdue faculty member certified by the US Department of Transportation as an Accident Investigator.

    Other Areas of Research Interests:

    • Communication issues between flight crews and ground support technicians.
    • Gender issues in the aviation industry.
    • Regional Airline operations.
